Electrolux is the global leader in domestic appliances, with household brands sold worldwide. Its European B2C eCommerce estate is built on a composable stack, with Optimizely CMS and Experimentation integrated into SAP commerce back-office systems. This estate spans 20 European markets, 18 sub-brands and 85 separate websites, each with enormous editor and content demand.
We served as principal enterprise architects for the re-architecture of the platform. We designed the complete technical solution, including:
The new micro-frontend composable architecture, plus functional specifications for over 100 components.
The iterative migration path, enabling a 2-year programme to run in parallel with legacy systems.
The UAT and release documentation to guide globally distributed development teams.
We supervised the execution to ensure adherence to the target architecture, reporting key performance metrics to senior stakeholders.
Highlights & Results:
Delivered a global micro-frontend architecture spanning all European markets and 18 brands.
Performance uplift - faster page loads, higher availability, improved scalability across the estate.
Market agility - local brands can now adapt customer experiences independently without diverging from global standards.
Editor empowerment: Architecture designed to support brand-specific frontends without overwhelming Group IT.
Lower TCO: Consolidation onto one solution reduced long-term cost and maintenance overhead.
Delivery discipline: Backlog health and quality metrics strengthened across distributed teams.
Operational confidence: SLA compliance secured through robust incident and lifecycle design.
